An URGENT message from John Dashler- 10 May 06
Georgians, here's a bottom line you need to
know.
Two weeks ago anyone that declared their
association with the Republican or Democratic Parties and wanted to
run for elected office simply had to visit their election
superintendent's office, meet a few citizenship/age/etc
requirements; file a couple of forms; and, pay a qualifying fee and
they are on the ballot! That includes
you!
As an independent, I must collect
nearly 40,000 signatures to gain ballot access. Until I
collect and submit this number of signatures of registered voters on
nomination petitions, I will not be on the ballot in November.
No independent has ever made the ballot for a statewide
office in Georgia because, according to Richard Winger of Ballot
Access News, Georgia has the most restrictive ballot access
laws in the country! The Republicans and Democrats have stacked the
deck to effectively deprive you of another
choice!
Technically, I have 8 weeks remaining to
qualify. Over 1,400 Georgians in 56 counties are armed with
nomination petitions to collect signatures. I have no idea how
actively any of them are collecting. Why? I do not have the funds,
the staff or the communications system to effectively manage this
information.
If you have nomination petitions in your
possession, step up the pace. If you don't, keep reading.
I
could use your help. Anyone that finds the ballot access
restrictions as appalling as most Georgians do, visit my website
http://dashlerforgov.com/index.htm,
click on the volunteer tab and volunteer to collect signatures or
email your request to me at john@dashlerforgov.com or
to my campaign coordinator at chairman@dashlerforgov.com.
Indicate how many signatures you think you can collect by the end of
June and we'll send you a sufficient number of
petitions.
Time is of the essence. As soon as you
complete a sheet (15 signatures), have it notarized and mail it to
our hqs:
Dashler for Governor 213 W. Emery Street Dalton, Georgia
30720
And, forward this email to EVERYONE in your address
book.
Thus far, I have provided most of the funds
for the campaign. Now, I need your financial help. Please,
send $20 dollars for reprinting materials and postage and we can
keep this going until the qualifying period ends.
Once we get on the ballot, we'll campaign on the issues and
my vision for Georgia. Until then, I have but one focus-
getting on the ballot! However, my website contains
190 pages of personal research, positions and my vision for Georgia.
If you are unfamiliar with me, visit the

and satisfy yourself of who I am, what I stand for, where I think
Georgia needs to go and how to get 'er there!
Thanks,
John
